Rebuilding a failing nightly pipeline, and an LLM cost study beside it

  • Took over an overnight Pentaho ELT job that failed intermittently and without warning, weighed the replacement options, and rebuilt it on Dagster and Airbyte.
  • Moved roughly 10,000 transaction records a day through a Dagster sensor that checks the source cheaply and starts an Airbyte sync only when new rows exist, so the expensive step runs on demand rather than on a fixed schedule.
  • Wrote every run to a log table with its outcome and metadata, so a night with no new data and a night where the sync broke stopped looking identical from the outside.
  • Stood the platform up on an isolated VM and documented the handover, so the internal team could run it without depending on one person.
  • Built the same Indonesian place-name normalizer four ways against an 80,534-entry reference register and compared them on tokens, cost, runtime and traceability before recommending one for production.

Internship

IT Infrastructure & Operations Division Intern · PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia

Infrastructure-as-code inside a bank's operations division

  • Automated web application deployment across 2 Red Hat Enterprise Linux virtual machines with Ansible over SSH, replacing a manual sequence run by hand on each box.
  • Wrote and maintained the Ansible playbooks as the definition of those servers, so a configuration could be rebuilt from its source rather than reconstructed from memory.
